Program requirements

The program requirements (course list and program rules (PDF, 180KB)) set out the courses and rules you must follow to successfully complete this program.

You must also comply with UQ’s University Policies and Procedures.

Students undertaking a single major must ensure they complete a minimum 4 units of Level 3 or higher (late-year) program elective courses from the BSc(Gatton) course list.

What do the different requirements mean?

  • Compulsory – all students must complete this course
  • Prerequisite for extended major – a course required for progression in this extended major
  • Extended Major compulsory – a course required for this major
  • Extended Major elective – required for the major, chosen from a specific selection of courses
  • Elective – an elective course from the course list, or other course lists as permitted by the program rules. Elective courses may be;
    • Program Electives: an elective course chosen from the BSc(Gatton) course list
    • General Electives: an elective course chosen from other course lists (as permitted by the program rules)
    • Recommended: a program elective or general elective course which complements the major, but can be substituted for another course.

  3. As per the Bachelor of Science (Gatton) information page; VETS2032 may be discontinued and last offered in 2022. If discontinued, students can study the alternate course VETS2006.
