You must also comply with UQ’s University Policies and Procedures.
The following planners are for students who commenced their program in 2021.
Please also refer to the revised 2021 Bachelor of Mathematics Program Requirement regarding completing courses towards more than 1 plan (major, minor), substituting courses and any major + minor combinations that are unavailable.
Majors
- Applied Mathematics Major
- Data Analytics and Operations Research Major
- Mathematical Physics Major
- Pure Mathematics Major
- Statistics
Students should contact the Faculty of Science Student Enquiries Office for further advice regarding completing 2 majors in the Bachelor of Mathematics program.
Minors
From 2021, the following minors are available in the Bachelor of Mathematics program:
Cross-Listed Courses
Where the program is undertaken with more than one plan, any course listed more than once must be subsititued in one plan by a course at the same level or higher from the course list for that plan, or from the BMath course list. If a course is compulsory in both plans, you may select which plan it will count towards.
Regardless of any possible cross-listing between plans, to meet the program requirements for the BMath program, each:
- major must include 8 units of courses level 3 or higher, and
- minor must contain 4 units of courses at level 2 or higher
taken from, and counting only towards, that plan’s course list.
Dual Programs
For the Bachelor of Mathematics component of dual programs, students may be able to complete one of the following combinations:
- Single major
- Single major + minor
Please refer to the Programs and Courses website for the dual program to view the dual program rules, course list and study planner.
