- Students without Queensland Senior Chemistry should complete CHEM1090 before taking any other chemistry course.
- Students with an interest in advanced mathematics and at least a high achievement in Maths C or a 6 in MATH1050, are encouraged to take STAT1301.
- CHEM1200 is strongly recommended for students wanting to specialise in the Molecular Genetics Stream.
