What will I study?

Chemical biotechnology is designed to produce graduates with a strong understanding of chemistry alongside aspects of microbiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, and the commercialisation aspects of biotechnology.

This major is accredited by the Royal Australian Chemical Institute for the educational relevance of its chemistry content.

1. Students without Queensland Senior Chemistry should complete CHEM1090 before taking any other chemistry course. Students without Senior Maths C should complete MATH1050 before any other Mathematics course. 
2. Choose a project from: SCIE3011, SCIE3220, SCIE3221SCIE3240SCIE3241SCIE3260, or SCIE3261. Please note some courses may also have a summer semester offering.
