5. Students who intend to major in Mathematics should take STAT1301.  Other students with an interest in advanced mathematics and at least a high achievement in Maths C or a 6 in MATH1050 are encouraged to take STAT1301.

What will I study?

From your first year you will be immersed in your chosen discipline and challenged with advanced content and research opportunities. In the first three years you will follow a well defined pathway taking courses that are driven by research inquiry. In your fourth year you will join a research group to undertake an extended research project  to gain your Honours qualification. You will also learn the critical thinking, writing and communication skills essential for a career in research. You will graduate with specialised skills and knowledge in your chosen discipline as well as an understanding of other science areas.
